How do I reserve a table or a seat?
Dinner and the card tables are booked separately. Fill in the form below and Felicity Morrison will confirm by e-mail, usually before the end of the following day.
Tell us when you would like to come
Please give as much detail as you can, including any allergies or an occasion you wish to mark. A reservation is a request until we confirm it, and we will contact you if the time you suggest is not available.
How is a reservation handled?
We read your request
Felicity Morrison reads each request herself, usually within a few hours of its arrival. She checks the date against the book, considers the size of your party and the area you have chosen, and writes a reply.
We confirm by e-mail
The confirmation names the evening, the time, the number of guests and the table or seat. If your first choice is unavailable she will propose two alternatives, and you may take either or suggest another.
We note your needs
Allergies, mobility, celebrations and children are written in the book against your name. The kitchen reads the notes before service, and Liam Allen greets you with them in mind.
We hold the table
Your table is held for fifteen minutes past the booked hour. A card-table seat is held for the whole evening, but may pass to the waiting list if you have not arrived by half past nine.
You may change or cancel
Ring or write at any time and the booking will be altered without charge. A short call lets us offer the table to a guest on the waiting list, which is the only courtesy we ask.
You arrive and give your name
At the host's desk, Felicity will find your name and show you to your table. If you are dining and then playing, the card-table seat is held through the interval and you may be called at the bell.
Afterwards
Booking details are deleted from the book within a few weeks of your visit, as set out in our privacy page. If you left something behind, Felicity will keep it in the front hall until you return, and she will ring to tell you it has been found.
